Arusha to Tarangire

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha. After a 2-hour scenic drive, you’ll arrive at Tarangire National Park, known for its stunning landscapes, ancient baobab trees, and large herds of elephants.

You’ll spend the day on game drives, where you can also spot giraffes, lions, zebras, impalas, and more. The Tarangire River is a magnet for wildlife, especially during the dry season.

After a picnic lunch inside the park, continue exploring before heading to your lodge in the Karatu area for dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, drive toward the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most famous wildlife areas. You’ll descend 600 meters into the crater floor for a half-day game drive, where you can see the Big Five (lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant, and leopard) along with hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, flamingos, and hippos. The crater’s enclosed ecosystem makes for incredibly concentrated wildlife viewing. Enjoy a picnic lunch by a hippo pool.

In the afternoon, ascend the crater rim and return to your lodge in Karatu for a relaxed evening.

Lake manyara

After breakfast, check out and head to nearby Lake Manyara National Park, a lush and compact park set at the base of the Great Rift Valley. The park is known for its beautiful forest, flamingo-lined lake, and possible sightings of tree-climbing lions. You'll also see hippos, monkeys, elephants, and abundant birdlife.

After a few hours of game driving and a picnic lunch, start your return journey to Arusha in the afternoon, arriving by early evening or in time for your outbound flight.
