Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest and enjoy an early breakfast before heading to Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. After learning the trekking guidelines, enter the lush forest in search of a habituated chimpanzee community. The trek may take 2–5 hours depending on the chimpanzees' location. Once found, spend one unforgettable hour observing them as they feed, groom, communicate, and swing through the canopy. You may also spot black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, olive baboons, and numerous bird species. After lunch, enjoy a guided walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, renowned for its rich birdlife, butterflies, monkeys, and community-led conservation. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, the natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. The cruise offers excellent opportunities to spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and various antelope species along the shores. Once found, spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, groom, play, and interact in their natural habitat while taking photographs. After returning from the forest, receive your gorilla trekking certificate and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, depart for Lake Mburo National Park, passing through the rolling hills and pastoral landscapes of southwestern Uganda.
