Dar es Salaam to Mikumi & Night Game Drive

You will be picked up from the airport, hotel, or ferry terminal and drive toward Mikumi National Park, approximately a 5–6-hour journey through the charming countryside and local villages. En route, you’ll stop in Morogoro town for lunch before continuing to the park. Upon arrival, enjoy your first afternoon game drive across Mikumi’s vast plains, where elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and lions roam freely. As the sun sets, return to your lodge for dinner, then later depart for a night game drive before returning for an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Game Drive and Visiting a Maasai Village (Boma)

After an early breakfast, set off for a full-day game drive through Mikumi’s open grasslands and acacia woodlands. With luck, you’ll encounter elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos. Your experienced guide will take you to the best wildlife spots, including the Mkata floodplain and hippo pools. Enjoy a bush lunch inside the park before continuing your game drive. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Mikumi to Dar es Salaam

We'll have an early morning breakfast, and afterwards, we'll drive back to Dar es Salaam via Morogoro town. On arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be dropped at the ferry for the second or last ferry to Zanzibar, or we can drop you off at the airport or hotel.
