Day 1

Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

You will be picked up from the airport/hotel. Drive to Lake Naivasha with a stop-over at the Great Rift Valley escarpment for 20-30 minutes. We will proceed to Hell's Gate National Park, mainly comprised of the Savannah ecosystem. It harbors a wide variety of wildlife, including birds like vultures, Verreaux's eagles, augur buzzards and swifts. Wildlife includes African buffalo, zebra, eland, hartbeest, Thomson's gazelle and baboon. The park is also home to the klip springer antelope. In the evening, you can go on a boat ride at Lake Naivasha (optional).

Day 2

After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is regarded by avid birders' as the greatest ornithological display in the world. The park is famous for its millions of pink flamingos lining the lake shore. Other bird life includes common species like the lesser and greater flamingo, African fish eagle, tawny eagle, green wood hoop, cliff chat, great white and pink-backed pelican plus various other Infra-African migrants. The park is also a sanctuary to the black rhino, white rhino and the Rothschild giraffe.
Arrive in time for lunch and check in at the Lodge. Proceed on an afternoon game drive in the park, which is densely populated with various other wildlife, before returning to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Spend another two full days of unlimited game drives in the Masai Mara National Reserve, in search of the Big Five. An optional balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 460 per person. Dinner and your overnight stay at Keekorok lodge.

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance, over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily spot lion, rhino, hippo, crocodile, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, warthog, hyena, jackal, wild dog, buffalo, leopard, antelope and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event in the world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in Tanzania in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the Savannah like lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vulture.

Day 5

Transfer to Nairobi

Transfer to Nairobi

Enjoy another extended morning game drive in the park and return to the camp for a late breakfast. We will depart from Mara for the return journey to Nairobi with en-route lunch. Our safari ends in Nairobi at approximately 4.30 pm. Drop off your hotel or airport.
