Day 1

The trip starts at 6:00 am with a pick up from The Light Homes located on KG 354 Street. Our knowledgeable driver guide briefs you about the trip and then start travelling to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Travelling from Kigali to Bwindi roughly takes 4-5 hours, of a comfortable ride enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Have a stopover at the Katuna border a Rwanda-Uganda Boarder for immigration and clearance to exit Rwanda and enter Uganda.
Another stop will be in Kabale at L. Bunyonyi for a boat cruise and lunch depending on your time of arrival or traffic and border clearance time. From Kabale after lunch, proceed straight to the park, arriving in the evening for a visit to the Batwa people at the edge of Bwindi forest and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight in Buhoma, the northern Sector of Bwindi.

Day 2

After an early breakfast with packed lunch, head to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. You'll be assigned to a group (max 8 people per gorilla family). Trekking can take minutes or hours, depending on the gorillas' location. Once found, you'll spend one unforgettable hour observing them from a 7-meter distance—watching them feed, play, and care for their young. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest.
In the evening, visit the Batwa for a cultural encounter with the forest’s original inhabitants. Learn about their traditional hunting and gathering lifestyle, listen to their music and stories, and witness dances that reflect their deep connection to the forest. This enriching experience offers a glimpse into a unique heritage and supports local community conservation efforts.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After a hearty breakfast, embark on a scenic transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the southern Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions and other wildlife. Enjoy views of the savannah and spot game along the way. In the evening, unwind with a sunset boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you'll encounter hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and a rich variety of bird species gathering at the water's edge—perfect for photography and relaxation after a day of travel.
