After an early breakfast at 6:30 AM, you will embark on a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. The park is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including large herds of giraffes, buffalos, and elephants, as well as an impressive variety of bird species. With some luck, you may spot predators like lions and leopards. Other animals you’re likely to see include zebras, hippos, wildebeests, impalas, elands, warthogs, and several types of antelope. Around midday, you will enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the beauty of nature. After lunch, the afternoon game drive continues, giving you more opportunities to observe wildlife before sunset. In the evening, you will return to Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and overnight rest.

Experience Thrilling Trails and Stunning Views in Udzungwa Mountains

Early in the morning, after breakfast at 7:00 AM, you will depart for Udzungwa Mountains National Park, located about 60 kilometers away. Upon arrival, you will check in at the park headquarters and prepare for your hike.

Your trek begins through lush, vibrant rainforests as you make your way to the stunning Sanje Waterfall. Towering at approximately 170 meters, this waterfall cascades down in four magnificent stages, making it the highest waterfall within Tanzania’s national park system. The cool, refreshing pool at the base is perfect for a relaxing swim, all while surrounded by breathtaking views.

The round-trip hike takes about five hours, during which you’ll have the chance to spot rare primates and a variety of unique bird species native to this biodiverse region. A packed lunch will be enjoyed in the heart of the park amidst nature’s tranquility.

After your memorable adventure, you will return to Mikumi Camp Bastian for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.
