Day 1

Arusha to Ndutu Region

Arusha to Ndutu Region

Your journey begins in Arusha, where you’ll either take a scenic bush flight or a road transfer to the Ndutu region, located at the intersection of Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, you'll meet your safari guide and head out for your first game drive en route to your lodge or tented camp. In the afternoon, explore the open plains where large herds of wildebeest gather for calving. This is also a prime area for spotting predators such as lions, hyenas, and cheetahs who are drawn to the vulnerable newborns. As the sun sets over the acacia-dotted landscape, you’ll return to camp for a relaxing dinner under the stars and your first night in the African bush.

Full-Day Safari in Ndutu and Southern Serengeti

Full-Day Safari in Ndutu and Southern Serengeti

After an early breakfast—or an optional sunrise balloon safari over the plains—you’ll head out for a full day of wildlife viewing. This is the best time to see wildebeest calves just hours old, taking their first steps and joining the herd. The Ndutu region is famous not only for the birthing activity but also for incredible predator-prey interactions. Your guide will take you through the plains, woodlands, and seasonal marshes where cheetahs often hunt and lions roam. Midday, enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild or return to camp for a brief rest. In the afternoon, continue tracking the migration and photographing the dynamic scenes of life and survival. After a rich day in the bush, unwind at your lodge or tented camp with sundowners and a hearty dinner.

Day 3

Morning Game Drive and Return to Arusha

Morning Game Drive and Return to Arusha

Begin your final day with a short morning game drive to catch any last wildlife sightings in the golden early light. You may witness calves being born, nursing, or taking part in their first migration steps. After the drive, you’ll either transfer to the nearby Ndutu airstrip for a flight back to Arusha or drive through the scenic highlands, possibly stopping at a Maasai village along the way if time permits. Once back in Arusha, you’ll enjoy lunch and have the option to rest or prepare for an evening flight onward.
