Drive from Karatu to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu) for wildebeest calving season
Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a thrilling game drive in the Southern Serengeti National Park, specifically the Ndutu area, where you’ll witness the incredible wildebeest calving season. After a rewarding morning of wildlife viewing, return to your lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.
The Ndutu calving season—one of nature’s most spectacular events, takes place between late January and March in the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu plains. During this time, more than 400,000 wildebeest calves are born across the vast, green grasslands nourished by recent rains. The area turns into a lively nursery, teeming with young wildebeest and attracting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas in search of prey.
