Upon arrival, your driver-guide will welcome you and drive approximately 1.5 hours to Tarangire National Park, sharing fascinating stories about Arusha’s history and the culture of the Maasai people along the way.

Drive from Karatu to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu) for wildebeest calving season

Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a thrilling game drive in the Southern Serengeti National Park, specifically the Ndutu area, where you’ll witness the incredible wildebeest calving season. After a rewarding morning of wildlife viewing, return to your lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.

The Ndutu calving season—one of nature’s most spectacular events, takes place between late January and March in the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu plains. During this time, more than 400,000 wildebeest calves are born across the vast, green grasslands nourished by recent rains. The area turns into a lively nursery, teeming with young wildebeest and attracting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas in search of prey.

You’ll enjoy a packed picnic lunch within the park in the afternoon before continuing your exploration. The day’s game drive concludes around 4:00 pm, followed by a delightful dinner at the lodge.

Start your morning with a hearty breakfast at 7:00 am, marking the final day of your safari adventure. After breakfast, you’ll set off for the renowned Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll enjoy a memorable game drive lasting until the afternoon.

The Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” is the planet’s largest intact and unflooded volcanic caldera, spanning roughly 20 kilometers across, 600 meters deep, and covering about 300 square kilometers. During your exploration, you’ll visit Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake situated in the crater’s southwestern corner, known for its population of black rhinos, flamingos, hippos, and various other waterbirds.
