Day 1
Tarangire national park
Tarangire national park
This short but immersive safari begins with an early departure from your hotel in Arusha toward Tarangire National Park, approximately a 2-hour drive. Tarangire is often referred to as a hidden gem, famous for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and the life living Tarangire River that winds through the park. During the dry season, the river attracts a concentration of wildlife that rivals even the Serengeti. Game drives here offer excellent sightings of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, and predators like lions and leopards, especially near the riverbanks. The landscape in Tarangire is diverse- rolling hills, swamps, open savannah, and thick woodland which supports more than 500 species of bird, making it a bird lover’s paradise. The park also has rare species like the fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk, which are not commonly seen elsewhere. Your guide will share insights into animals behavior, plant life, and the ecosystem.
