The reserve is renowned for its black-maned lions, abundant resident wildlife, and is one of the few places where you may see the “Big Five” in a single morning’s game drive. For bird enthusiasts, the reserve is a paradise with nearly 500 recorded species, including 16 types of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, six species of vultures, eight species of storks, four species of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and nine species of sunbirds.
