Day 1
The day begins at Jinja — Uganda’s adventure capital and home to the Source of the Nile, the precise point on the northern shore of Lake Victoria where the world’s longest river begins its 6,650-kilometre journey to the Mediterranean. A guided boat cruise onto Lake Victoria takes you to the exact source point a moment of genuine historical and geographical significance that has drawn explorers, adventurers and travelers since John Hanning Speke first identified it in 1858.
The afternoon takes you to Sipi Falls on the foothills of Mount Elgon — a series of three stunning waterfalls cascading through lush highland forest, coffee plantations and traditional Sebei farming communities. The tallest plunges over 100 meters into a mist-filled gorge. A guided hike of 3–4 hours visits three falls along trails that offer some of the most spectacular highland scenery in Uganda.
This tour is ideal for travelers with one free day in Uganda, those with a passion for African geography and history.
