Day 2
Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, depart Kampala and journey westward through Uganda’s breathtaking countryside — rolling tea estates, banana plantations, and the distant shimmer of the Rwenzori peaks beckoning on the horizon. The drive itself is a visual feast, passing through Fort Portal, one of Uganda’s most scenic towns.
Arrive at Kibale Forest National Park in the afternoon and check in to your lodge. Take a gentle evening nature walk around the lodge grounds, where the air is rich with birdsong and the dense canopy rustles with unseen life. Tonight, excitement builds — tomorrow you enter one of the world’s most important chimpanzee habitats.

Day 3
Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
Rise before dawn for the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience, a rare full-day adventure alongside a semi-habituated chimpanzee community. Accompanied by expert researchers and trackers, venture deep into Kibale Forest as the chimps awaken, feed, groom, play, and interact in their natural habitat. Unlike a standard trek, spend up to six hours observing them as they wake, feed, groom, squabble, and play. You witness behaviors no standard one-hour trek could ever reveal: a mother nursing her infant in the canopy, a dominant male asserting himself with thunderous display, juveniles tumbling and chasing through the undergrowth. You are not just watching wildlife — you are glimpsing the closest mirror humans have in nature.
Return to the lodge in the late afternoon, physically tired but emotionally full. This is a day you will describe for the rest of your life.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Crater Drive

After breakfast, depart Kibale for Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Africa’s most biodiverse protected areas, renowned for its wildlife, crater lakes, and dramatic landscapes along the western arm of the Great Rift Valley.
En route, enjoy the scenic 27-kilometre Crater Drive through the Explosion Crater Area, where ancient volcanic activity has created a remarkable landscape of crater lakes in striking shades of blue, green, and brown. Pause at the tranquil Lake Kitagata, a mineral-rich crater lake known for its still waters and unique beauty.
As the road winds through the craters, take in panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley, the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains, and the shimmering Kazinga Channel below. This spectacular journey offers some of Uganda’s most iconic scenery before arriving at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 5

Kisenyi plains game drive and boat cruise
Begin the day with an early morning game drive on the Kasenyi Plains, Queen Elizabeth National Park’s premier wildlife-viewing area. The open savannah is renowned for its healthy lion population, with frequent sightings of prides hunting Uganda kob in broad daylight. You may also encounter elephants, buffalo, hyenas, warthogs, and, with a bit of luck, a leopard resting in the acacia trees. The backdrop of the Rwenzori Mountains adds to the park’s spectacular scenery.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, one of Africa’s richest wildlife habitats. Watch large pods of hippos, basking crocodiles, elephants, and buffalo gathering along the shores, while an incredible variety of birds—including African fish eagles, kingfishers, pelicans, storks, and herons—make this one of Uganda’s finest birdwatching experiences. The cruise offers exceptional wildlife viewing and stunning views as the afternoon light reflects across the water.

Day 6
Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The landscape here is different from the north — lower, flatter, more thickly wooded, with wide open fig tree plains that have a wild and untouched quality. Ishasha is world-famous for one thing: tree-climbing lions.
The lions of Ishasha have developed the unusual habit of climbing into the broad, horizontal branches of ancient wild fig trees and spending the day lounging overhead — an extraordinary and rare behaviour seen in only a handful of places on earth. Spotting a pride of six or eight lions draped across the branches of a fig tree, surveying the plains from above, is one of the defining wildlife sightings of any Uganda safari.
Beyond the lions, Ishasha delivers big herds of Uganda kob, topi, elephant, buffalo, and outstanding birdlife on the Ntungwe River floodplain.
After the Game drive through Ishasha Sector, Head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 7
Gorilla trekking
Gorilla trekking
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides. During the briefing, you will learn about the dos and don'ts of gorilla trekking and be assigned a gorilla family.
You will then enter the dense forest accompanied by your ranger guide and trackers to begin the gorilla trekking experience. The trek can take between 2 to 8 hours, depending on the location and movement of the gorillas.
Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat — watching their interactions, learning about their behaviour, and taking photographs while maintaining a safe distance.
After the trek, you will return to the park headquarters to receive your
Gorilla Trekking Certificate.

Transfer to Lake Mburo
Transfer to Lake Mburo
After Breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park — Uganda’s smallest savannah park and one of its most charming. The landscape gradually transitions from the dramatic western rift escarpments to a gentler terrain of open acacia savannah, rocky outcrops, and a necklace of five interconnected lakes shimmering in the afternoon haze.
Arrive at your lodge, the sounds of zebra and impala moving past the lodge fence set the mood for the morning ahead.

After Lunch, head into the park for an afternoon game drive through Lake Mburo’s distinctive mosaic of acacia woodland, open savannah, and rocky kopjes. The park’s flat terrain makes wildlife viewing exceptionally rewarding: Eland, the world’s largest antelope, move in herds across the open ground. Giraffes stretch impossibly long necks into the acacia canopy. Topis with their rich chestnut coats stand sentinel on termite mounds. Zebras, warthogs, and impalas are everywhere.

Rubanga Forest & Return to Kampala
Rubanga Forest & Return to Kampala
After breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park and enjoy a guided nature walk in Rubanga Forest, a hidden gem celebrated for its rich birdlife and tranquil atmosphere. Home to more than 40 forest bird species, the forest offers excellent opportunities to spot the African green pigeon, double-toothed barbet, African harrier-hawk, and, with luck, the elusive shoebill. The lush forest is also home to towering fig trees, palms, and wildlife including impalas, zebras, warthogs, topis, and buffalo.
After lunch, begin your return journey to Kampala and Entebbe, stopping at the Uganda Equator for the iconic photo opportunity at the 0° latitude line.
Arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon and transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight, bringing your unforgettable Ugandan safari to a close. We hope this is just the first of many visits to the Pearl of Africa.
