Following your lunch and perhaps a bit more afternoon game viewing, begin your scenic road transfer, making your way towards the cooler highlands. Arrive in the charming town of Karatu, where you'll check into the welcoming Marera Valley Lodge. Take some time to relax, unwind, and freshen up after your drive. Remain at Hippo Trails Camp for your second night. Spend the day exploring this less-visited part of the park on exciting game drives, tracking animals and soaking in the different atmosphere. After an early breakfast at your camp, begin your drive to the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Conservation Area, focusing on the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. Descend over 600 meters into the largest unbroken caldera on Earth, often described as the " Eighth Wonder of the World." This unique, self-contained ecosystem boasts incredibly high densities of wildlife. Spend a full day exploring the crater floor's diverse habitats – from grasslands and swamps to lakes and forests. Game viewing here is exceptionally rewarding; you have a high chance of spotting the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo), along with countless other species, all within this stunning setting. Enjoy a packed lunch inside the crater during your explorations. Ascend the rim in the late afternoon, there after transfer by road back to Arusha and rest at Safari Villa and enjoy Swahili dinner.
