Your adventure begins with a scenic drive or flight to the Ndutu area, located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and bordering the southern Serengeti. This region is a key stop during the Great Migration, especially during calving season when thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather on the nutrient-rich plains. Expect to witness dramatic predator-prey interactions as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas roam in search of vulnerable young. The open landscape and seasonal lakes also attract diverse birdlife, making this an incredible start to your safari.

Full game drive in Ndutu Area

Today is dedicated to exploring more of Ndutu’s rich wildlife zones. With a full day of game drives, you’ll track the movement of the herds and follow predators through open plains and woodland areas. The flexibility of off-road driving in this area allows for closer wildlife encounters, especially during peak migration months. Whether it’s watching a cheetah sprint across the savannah or observing wildebeest calves take their first steps, Ndutu offers some of the most raw and intimate safari moments in Tanzania.

Ngorongoro Crater & Return to Arusha/Kilimanjaro

After an early breakfast, you depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, descending into this UNESCO World Heritage Site for a half-day game drive. The crater floor is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, and the elusive black rhino. The diverse ecosystems within the crater—ranging from forests to lakes—make it one of the best places to see a high concentration of animals in a compact area. After your game drive and picnic lunch, you'll begin your journey back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport, marking the end of your remarkable safari.
