Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your local guide, who will assist you with your luggage and accompany you to your vehicle for the transfer to Arusha. The journey to your accommodation, spans approximately 50 kilometers (31 miles) and typically takes between 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic conditions.
Once you arrive and check in, you’ll have time to unwind and recover from your travels in the serene and homely atmosphere of Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, dinner may be available. You’ll spend your first night in Tanzania relaxing at this comfortable and welcoming guesthouse in Arusha.

Day 2
Arusha to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, depart from Arusha and begin your journey to Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. The drive covers approximately 325 kilometers (200 miles) and takes around 7 to 8 hours, including time for brief stops and wildlife viewing en route. A packed lunch will be provided for the journey.
You’ll travel through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands, with the opportunity to glimpse stunning views of the Ngorongoro Crater as you pass through the conservation area. As you descend onto the Serengeti plains, the landscape opens up into vast savannahs teeming with wildlife.
Upon entering the park, enjoy your first game drive en route to your accommodation, Serena Serengeti Lodge—a beautifully designed lodge that blends seamlessly into the natural surroundings.
Arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon for check-in, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the Serengeti.

Today is dedicated to exploring the legendary Serengeti National Park on an unforgettable full-day game drive. After an early breakfast, set out with your guide and a packed lunch, ready for a day of adventure in one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife sanctuaries.
Venture deep into the park’s endless plains, keeping watch for the “Big Five”—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros—as well as countless other species that inhabit this vast ecosystem. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the awe-inspiring Great Migration, as thousands of wildebeest and zebras traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing.
Throughout the day, enjoy sightings of predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, along with elephants, giraffes, hippos, and a stunning variety of birdlife.
In the late afternoon, return to the lodge, where you’ll enjoy a relaxing dinner and a restful overnight stay in the heart of the Serengeti.

Day 4
Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Depart Serengeti National Park at 6:30 AM and begin your journey toward the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The drive from the central Serengeti region (around Seronera) to the crater floor spans approximately 145 kilometers (90 miles) and typically takes 3.5 to 4 hours, including time for park entry formalities at Naabi Hill Gate and the Ngorongoro Crater Gate.
Upon arrival, descend into the crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This unique ecosystem is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including the rare black rhino, large lion prides, elephants, buffaloes, and a rich variety of antelope, birds, and other species—all thriving within the crater’s natural enclosure.

After an early breakfast, depart your lodge and head to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most iconic wildlife destinations in Africa. The day will be dedicated to a full-day game drive within the crater floor, giving you ample time to explore this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Formed by a collapsed volcano, the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and hosts one of the densest concentrations of wildlife on the continent. With a packed lunch provided, you’ll descend the steep walls of the crater into a natural amphitheater teeming with animals. Keep your camera ready for sightings of the Big Five—particularly the rare black rhino, which is often spotted here—as well as lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and abundant birdlife around the seasonal lakes and wetlands.
After an unforgettable day of wildlife encounters, ascend the crater rim in the late afternoon and return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight at.

After breakfast, depart Karatu and begin your journey back to Arusha, marking the end of your northern Tanzania safari adventure. The drive from Karatu to Arusha covers approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles) and typically takes about 3 to 4 hours, depending on road conditions and traffic.
Enjoy the scenic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Highlands and rural Tanzania as you descend toward the town. You may opt for a few brief stops along the way for photos, local markets, or a coffee break.
Upon arrival in Arusha, you’ll either be transferred to your accommodation for the night or directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight, depending on your travel schedule.
