Your safari begins with a pick up from your hotel or airport and start the drive to the breathtaking Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated gems. The park is characterized by its towering baobab trees, open savannah, and the Tarangire River, which acts as a magnet for wildlife, particularly during the dry season.
Tarangire is especially famous for its large elephant herds, often seen up close, along with buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and numerous bird species. You’ll spend the day on game drives exploring the park’s diverse habitats and rich wildlife. In the evening, you’ll head to your lodge in the nearby town of Karatu, where you’ll enjoy a comfortable stay with a warm dinner and relaxation.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, you’ll leave Tarangire behind and begin the scenic journey to the central Serengeti, passing through the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you’ll enjoy changing landscapes, from green hills to acacia-dotted plains, and you may encounter Maasai herders or wildlife even before entering the park. Upon entering the Serengeti, your game viewing begins immediately. The vast plains open before you with possibilities of seeing lions stalking prey, herds of elephants grazing, or cheetahs resting under shade trees. Depending on the time of year, you might witness parts of the Great Migration, one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife movements. As the sun sets, you’ll arrive at your tented camp inside the park.

Day 3

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the Serengeti, with both morning and afternoon game drives across different zones of the park. The central Serengeti, known as Seronera, is rich with permanent water sources and excellent year-round wildlife sightings. You’ll search for predators like leopards, hyenas, and lions, as well as grazers including topis, impalas, and buffaloes. With a packed picnic lunch, you’ll enjoy the freedom to roam deep into the wilderness without returning to camp midday. The Serengeti’s landscapes, rolling plains, rocky outcrops, and riverine forests, add depth to your safari photography. After a thrilling day, return to your lodge or camp for a well-earned dinner under the stars.

Day 4

After an early breakfast, you’ll depart the Serengeti and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, heading to one of Africa’s most unique natural wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival, you’ll descend 600 meters into the crater floor for a game drive in a self-contained ecosystem teeming with life. This is one of the best places in East Africa to see the critically endangered black rhino, as well as elephants, lions, hippos, wildebeests, and flamingos around the soda lake. After a morning of spectacular wildlife viewing and a picnic lunch in the crater, you’ll ascend and begin your drive back to Arusha, concluding your unforgettable 4-day journey.
