Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Elephant Paradise & Baobab Wonder

After an early breakfast in Arusha, your guide will pick you up for the journey to Tarangire National Park, known for its high density of elephants, ancient baobab trees, and seasonal swamps that attract thousands of animals. Upon entering the park, enjoy a thrilling game drive, spotting large herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and predators like lions and leopards lounging in the shade.

You’ll break for a picnic lunch inside the park at a designated site with panoramic views, and continue your wildlife viewing through the golden afternoon light. Tarangire’s remote charm and dramatic savannah landscapes make it a hidden gem among Tanzania’s northern circuit parks.

In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to a nearby public campsite in Mto wa Mbu or Lake Manyara area for dinner and your first night under canvas.

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park – Into the Endless Plains

Rise early and depart with packed breakfast as you begin the scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands en route to the Serengeti National Park. Along the way, enjoy views of rural Maasai villages, highland forests, and the Rift Valley escarpment. Enter the Serengeti through the Naabi Hill Gate, where you’ll stop for lunch and take in the vast, sweeping plains that stretch beyond the horizon.

This is Africa’s most celebrated national park and home to the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras move in search of fresh grazing. Spend the afternoon on a game drive searching for big cats like cheetahs and lions, herds of antelope, hyenas, elephants, and towering giraffes. The Serengeti never disappoints.

By sunset, head to your campsite deep in the Serengeti wilderness. Fall asleep to the distant calls of hyenas and roaring lions — the real sounds of the wild.

Serengeti Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Ngorongoro

Start your day with a pre-dawn game drive — the best time to witness predators in action and catch the golden sunrise painting the Serengeti in fiery colors. Search for elusive animals like leopards and watch as the savannah awakens with birdsong and grazing herbivores. After breakfast at the camp, enjoy another short drive as you begin the journey back toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

You’ll stop for a picnic lunch en route and have opportunities to spot wildlife along the way, especially around the Ngorongoro plains which are often dotted with Maasai bomas and grazing cattle alongside zebra and wildebeest.

Arrive at Simba Campsite on the crater rim before sunset. From here, take in sweeping views of the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the Eighth Wonder of the World. Tonight, you may be visited by zebras or buffalo wandering through the campgrounds.
