Arusha to Olduvai Gorge, Shifting Sands, Laetoli Footprints & Ngorongoro AreA

Morning: After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Arusha. After a brief introduction, you'll depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at Olduvai Gorge. You'll visit the museum, which showcases the archaeological discoveries made by the Leakey family, including early hominid fossils and stone tools.
After the museum, you'll go to a viewpoint overlooking the gorge, offering a dramatic perspective of this important geological and archaeological site. Enjoy your packed lunch in a designated spot within Ngorongoro conservation Area. Continue your drive to the Shifting Sands, a unique black volcanic ash dune that slowly moves across the plains due to wind. It's a fascinating natural phenomenon. Then proceed to Laetoli Footprints which are incredibly significant fossilized hominid footprints preserved in volcanic ash, dating back about 3.6 million years. In the evening, you'll drive towards your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive & Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, you'll begin your descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. The descent offers breathtaking panoramic views.
Spend the morning on an extensive game drive within the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is renowned for its incredibly high concentration of wildlife, often referred to as a "natural enclosure." You have an excellent chance of spotting the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. You'll also encounter wildebeest, zebra, hippos, hyenas, various bird species and more all within a relatively small area.
Picnic Lunch: Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool or at a designated picnic spot within the crater, surrounded by the incredible wildlife.
After your exhilarating game drive, you'll ascend out of the Ngorongoro Crater and begin your drive back to Arusha.
Evening: Arrive back in Arusha, where your guide will drop you off at your hotel or preferred location.
