Your adventure begins with a morning boat ride from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam, where our team will assist you with a comfortable transfer to the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) terminal. Relax on a scenic train journey through Tanzania’s countryside to Morogoro, where your professional safari guide will warmly welcome you and drive you directly to Mikumi National Park.
Here, you will embark on afternoon, noon and evening game drives across the park’s vast savannahs, home to elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, and an incredible variety of birdlife. A freshly prepared picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wild. End your day with dinner and an overnight stay at Tanapa Mikumi Cottages, nestled in the heart of the park for a true bush experience.

Early Morning Game Drive - Train to Dar es Salaam - Flight to Zanzibar

Your day begins before sunrise with a magical 06h00 game drive inside Mikumi National Park a truly special time to witness the wilderness come alive. Watch predators making their way back from the night’s hunt, elephants and giraffes moving gracefully across the plains, and herbivores grazing under the warm glow of the rising sun.
After five exhilarating hours of wildlife encounters, you will exit the park at 13:00 hrs and travel comfortably to Morogoro, where you will board the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) for your scenic journey to Dar es Salaam, passing through lush landscapes and rural Tanzanian villages.
Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will have the smooth, private transfer to Julius Nyerere International Airport for your night flight to Zanzibar (ticket pre-arranged by our agency for your comfort). You will land in Zanzibar later that evening, carrying with you not just beautiful photographs, but also lifelong memories of Tanzania’s southern wilderness.
