Upon arrival, your guide will escort you to the Presidential Palace Museum, once home to President Habyarimana. Here, you’ll walk through preserved rooms and explore the residence's historical significance, offering insight into Rwanda’s leadership before 1994. Next, you visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a deeply moving tribute to the victims of 1994. Through personal stories and reflective spaces, you'll gain insight into the nation's painful past and its path to healing. After a local Rwandan lunch, you leave the city behind, driving north through breathtaking landscapes toward Volcanoes National Park. The journey offers a first glimpse of the country’s beauty—misty mountains, terraced hills, and scattered villages. By evening, you arrive in Musanze and check into your lodge.

Day 2

Your day starts early with breakfast near Volcanoes National Park before heading to the park headquarters for a 7:00 a.m. briefing. You then embark on the golden monkey trek, hiking through bamboo forests to observe these playful primates in their natural habitat for about an hour. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and check out. In the early afternoon, you begin the scenic drive to the Cyanika border, cross into Uganda, and continue to the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Along the way, enjoy views of rolling hills and lush farmland. By evening, you arrive at your Bwindi lodge, where you can unwind and prepare for the next day’s unforgettable gorilla trekking experience.

Day 3

Your day begins early with breakfast before heading to the Bwindi park headquarters for a 7:00 a.m. briefing. Led by expert rangers, you set off into the dense rainforest for your gorilla trekking adventure. The trek may take 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but once you find them, you’ll spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants up close—an unforgettable wildlife encounter. After returning to the lodge, you enjoy lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, you visit a nearby Batwa community, where you experience the traditions of the forest’s original inhabitants. Through storytelling, dance, and demonstrations of survival skills like fire-making and hunting, the Batwa share their deep connection to the land. As the day ends, you return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation, reflecting on a day rich with both natural wonder and cultural discovery.

Day Four begins with an early breakfast followed by a morning game drive in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions. As you explore the open plains and fig trees, keep watch for lions lounging in branches, as well as elephants, buffaloes, topi, and antelope. After the drive, you journey north through the park to the Mweya or Kasenyi sector, stopping for lunch along the way. In the afternoon, you head to the Kazinga Channel for a scenic boat cruise, where you’ll glide along calm waters spotting hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a wide variety of birds along the shoreline. This relaxing cruise offers a perfect contrast to the morning’s wildlife chase. As the sun sets over the savannah, you check into your lodge for dinner and rest, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day Five begins with an early breakfast before heading to either Kalinzu Forest or Kyambura Gorge for your chimpanzee trekking adventure. After a safety and briefing session, you enter the forest with a ranger guide, following calls and broken branches through thick vegetation. Once you find the chimpanzees, you spend up to an hour observing their fascinating behavior—watching them swing through the trees, groom one another, or forage for fruit. After the trek, you return for a late lunch and begin the drive south through scenic highlands and villages. By late afternoon, you arrive at Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s most beautiful lake, known for its calm waters and 29 lush islands.
