Arrival in Arusha – Karibu Tanzania

Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your local guide with a warm Tanzanian smile and a heartfelt “Karibu!” (Welcome). From there, enjoy a comfortable transfer to Kimaro Hostel, a cozy and friendly base in the city of Arusha.

After checking in, relax and take in your first glimpses of Tanzanian life—colorful markets, mountain views, and the rhythm of a city that serves as the gateway to some of the most spectacular natural wonders in Africa. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore nearby neighborhoods or unwind in the garden with a cup of chai.

In the evening, gather with your group for a welcome dinner and orientation. Your guide will walk you through the adventure ahead, answer any questions, and set the tone for a journey that will awaken your sense of wonder and purpose.

Safari in Tarangire National Park – Where Elephants Roam Free

Wake up to the sounds of birdsong and enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting out on your first safari adventure to Tarangire National Park, located about 2.5 hours southwest of Arusha. Famous for its giant elephant herds, towering baobab trees, and the life-giving Tarangire River. As you travel in a custom safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, your expert guide will help you track animals and interpret the behaviors and interactions of wildlife. Expect to see elephants strolling in family groups, giraffes silhouetted against the horizon, zebras and wildebeest grazing, and maybe even lions resting in the shade. With over 550 bird species, Tarangire is also a birdwatcher’s paradise.

Pause for a picnic lunch inside the park, surrounded by nature’s raw beauty. In the afternoon, continue your game drive before heading to your lodge nestled in nature—Siafu Serenity.

Spend your final full day at Yakini School, a grassroots educational institution serving underprivileged children in the community. Education is a powerful tool for change, and today you’ll become part of that mission.

Depending on your interests and background, you may assist in classrooms, lead fun learning games, help improve English skills, or participate in creative projects. You’ll also have time to interact with teachers and staff, learning more about Tanzania’s education system, challenges, and the incredible commitment of those working to improve young lives.

This is a day of mutual learning, where you’ll exchange not just knowledge, but also laughter, ideas, and inspiration.
