Dar Es Salaam - Mikumi National Park

After an early breakfast, you’ll depart for Mikumi National Park, driving approximately five hours through scenic landscapes and passing traditional Tanzanian villages along the way. Upon arrival, check in at your tented camp offering panoramic views of the savannah. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a game drive, where you might spot herds of elephants, lions resting under acacia trees, and giraffes wandering the plains. Mikumi is part of the Greater Selous Ecosystem, meaning wildlife moves freely between here and the vast Nyerere National Park.

Mikumi National Park

Spend the day exploring Mikumi’s diverse landscapes, from the open Mkata Floodplain, where you’ll find large concentrations of herbivores, to the miombo woodlands, home to leopards and wild dogs. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, followed by an afternoon game drive in search of buffalo, zebras, hippos, and hyenas. Mikumi is also home to the rare sable antelope, known for its striking black coat and impressive curved horns.
