Day 1

You will begin your journey by departing from Kigali and traveling southwest toward Gisakura, with enriching stops at some of Rwanda’s most significant historical and cultural sites along the way. Your first stop will be Kamegeri Rock, a site known for its historical relevance and the legend tied to it. From there, you’ll head to Nyanza to visit the King’s Palace Museum, which offers a fascinating glimpse into Rwanda’s royal heritage, including the beautifully reconstructed traditional palace and the famous long-horned Inyambo cows. Continuing on, you’ll visit the Ethnographic Museum in Huye, renowned for its comprehensive exhibits on Rwanda’s culture, history, and daily life. In the afternoon, you’ll break for lunch before resuming your journey to Gisakura. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at a recommended hotel, lodge, or guesthouse, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay, resting up for the exciting adventures that await the following day.

Day 2

After an early breakfast at 5:45 a.m., you will set off for the Chimpanzee trekking point in Nyungwe Forest National Park. The trek offers an incredible opportunity to observe these intelligent primates in their natural habitat as they forage, play, and interact with one another. After the exhilarating chimp trekking experience, your adventure continues with a walk on the famous canopy walkway. Suspended 50 meters above the forest floor and stretching 200 meters in length, the walkway offers breathtaking views over a steep, lush valley. This elevated platform winds through the treetops, allowing visitors to witness the forest from a unique perspective. As you walk across the canopy, you'll be at eye level with various primate species and birds that dwell in the upper layers of the forest. The walkway spans hundreds of square meters, providing unforgettable sightings of Nyungwe’s rich biodiversity while surrounded by the sounds and sights of the vibrant rainforest ecosystem.

Day 3
Tea Plantation Experience and Lake Kivu Getaway
Tea Plantation Experience and Lake Kivu Getaway
During this 2-hour tour of the tea factory, you will gain a deep understanding of how tea is produced. Afterward, you will head to Kibuye for a visit to Napoleon Island and a Kivu boating experience, or drive to Huye and depart back to Kigali.
At the end of the tour, you will drive back to Kigali, then the airport, and finally, depart home.
