Day 1

Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

Depart from your hotel early in the morning for Lake Naivasha with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photography. Drive to Lake Naivasha, arriving at your lodge in time for lunch and afternoon relaxation. In the afternoon, you are scheduled for boat riding and a visit to Crescent Island. A speed boat will ferry you to the island. There are thousands of birds to watch, animals grazing by the banks of the lake, and the snoring heads of huge hippos. The pilot is knowledgeable and acts as your guide on the lake.

After 30 minutes of the boat ride, you arrive at the island and are welcomed by friendly guides. They will guide you through the island and show you its animals and vegetation. A hyena comes to hunt at night but is not a resident of the island. The many pythons who live here can be seen occasionally with a kill. After 4 hours on the island, the boat will pick you up and take you to the mainland and to the hotel for dinner.

Hell's Gate National Park and later to Nairobi

Enjoy your buffet breakfast, check out and proceed for an adventurous game drive to Hell's Gate National Park. The park is famous for buffaloes and gazelles grazing along the road. This is the only park in Kenya where travelers are allowed to walk and ride bicycles. Our vehicle will follow you closely as you ride and enjoy the great views of vegetation and grazing animals.

There is also an optional activity for rock climbing (only suitable for energetic and fit clients). A gorges tour is also available during dry seasons when there is no risk of flooding. The government may restrict entry to the gorges to avoid flood accidents. There are also geothermal plants for the generation of electricity to the national power grid. Later, you will drive back and exit the park for the Nairobi trip. You will stop at Naivasha town for lunch and then drive back to Nairobi with many memories.
