After an early breakfast at Marera Valley Lodge, you’ll depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. Often referred to as the "Eighth Wonder of the World," the crater is the largest unbroken volcanic caldera on Earth and home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. During your game drive, you have a lucky to spot the Big Five—including black rhino, lion, elephant, buffalo, and leopard—as well as cheetahs, hyenas, hippos, and a variety of bird species. The diverse landscapes, from open grasslands to acacia forests and soda lakes, make for an unforgettable safari experience. Around midday, you’ll enjoy a packed lunch at the scenic Hippo Pool picnic site. In the afternoon, you’ll ascend from the crater and begin your drive back to Arusha. Depending on your travel plans, you will be dropped off at your hotel or directly at the airport, marking the end of your incredible 2-day safari adventure.
