Your safari begins in Maun, where a scenic fixed-wing flight takes you into the remote Khwai Community adjacent to Moremi Game Reserve. Nestled beneath the canopy of sycamore figs, MmaTsebe Camp is on the remote Mdubi River, offering stunning views. This camp is an owner run delight, on a small private concession where mokoro trips are done in front of camp. Explore the vast pristine wilderness on daily game drives, with local guides, which are rich and varied, from sightings of lion and leopard to large herds of elephant and buffalo.

With over 500 recorded species, Khwai is a birder’s dream. Key sightings include Pel’s fishing owl, saddle-billed
storks, malachite and woodland kingfishers, and the iconic African fish eagle.

Each tent has a private deck area as well as ensuite with hot showers and flushing toilets. The main area has a pool, boma area and enjoy the same amazing views as the tents. Its not uncommon to see elephants and other animals saunter past the camp.

This full-day excursion takes you deep into the waterways of the Okavango Delta – a truly unforgettable way to experience one of the world’s natural wonders.

The day begins at 6:30am with a morning game drive from camp to Hippo Pools near Moremi’s North Gate, followed by a 1.5-hour transfer to the Xakanaxa Boat Station, with a scenic coffee and tea stop along the way. From 11:30am to 2:00pm, you'll board a double-decker boat and cruise through the crystal-clear channels of the Delta, enjoying drinks and a picnic lunch on board.

The lower deck provides a close-up view of the vibrant birdlife and reed-fringed waterways, while the upper deck offers sweeping vistas of the Delta and excellent game viewing – including the rare and elusive sitatunga antelope, which thrives in this region.

After docking at Xakanaxa, enjoy a leisurely afternoon game drive back to camp, arriving by 6:30pm. A helicopter upgrade is available for a spectacular aerial perspective of this remarkable landscape.
