Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

In the morning, your safari guide will pick you up from your lodge in Arusha and set out toward Tarangire National Park. The scenic drive takes you across the gently rolling Maasai plains, dotted with acacia trees. Along the way, you’ll pass Maasai locals in their vibrant attire, walking the roadside, herding cattle, riding bicycles, or guiding donkey carts.

Tarangire is famed for its massive elephant herds and diverse wildlife. From the open roof of our modern safari jeep, you’ll explore seasonal swamps, sweeping savannas, and the life-giving Tarangire River, where animals like zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, elephants, and giraffes gather.

After an exciting day of game drives, you’ll head to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner, where you can unwind by the pool and relax in comfortable surroundings.

Covering 102 square miles and enclosed by 2,000-foot-high walls, it’s like a natural Noah’s Ark, home to nearly every species native to East Africa. This is one of the few places where you can spot the rare black rhino. The crater features rivers, swamps, a soda lake teeming with flamingos, lush forests, and vast open plains. It is also famous for its majestic elephants, known for having some of the largest tusks in the world.

Your day begins early with a drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll descend into the crater floor for an unforgettable morning of game viewing in this spectacular setting. After an afternoon safari, you’ll ascend the crater walls and return to Arusha for transfer to the airport.
