Day 1

Your tour begins today with a transfer from Kigali, Rwanda to Kibale National Park in Uganda. You will be picked up from the airport or from your hotel if you are already in Kigali. The journey through Rwanda's hilly countryside and into Uganda is beautifully scenic, and before long, you will arrive at the lodge. Once there, you can rest after the long drive or take a short walk to stretch your legs. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 2

Today begins with an early breakfast before driving to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a briefing on your chimpanzee adventure. Be sure to carry enough drinking water and a packed lunch. After being divided into groups of eight, you will enter the forest with a ranger guide in search of these incredible primates. You will spend a magical hour observing and learning about the chimpanzees before returning to the starting point.

From here, continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the ultimate gorilla experience, with lunch provided along the way.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, head into the pristine jungle of Bwindi for the ultimate gorilla adventure. Following a briefing, you will be divided into groups of eight and then enter the forest. Be sure to carry enough drinking water and a packed lunch.

Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one unforgettable hour with them, with plenty of opportunities to take photos. As Bwindi is a tropical rainforest, rain gear is highly recommended since showers can occur at any time of day. For a small fee of USD 20, you can hire a porter to assist you in the more challenging sections of the hike.

After the trek, transfer to Volcanoes National Park, where you will have dinner and spend the night at the lodge.

This morning, head to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey trekking. For many, this is considered the next best experience after gorilla trekking, and you will be delighted by these playful primates that thrive in the bamboo forests.

After the trek, you may visit the Ibyi'wachu Cultural Village for a cultural immersion experience, depending on the time available. You will then be transferred to Kigali.
