On arrival at Bole International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel for breakfast and time to rest. Later enjoy a guided city tour beginning with the National Museum (home of Lucy), followed by panoramic views and historic sites at Entoto Mariam and Menelik II’s Palace. After lunch at Entoto Park, visit Unity Park to explore traditional regional houses, the palace grounds and cultural exhibits. Finish the day with a welcome dinner at a top local restaurant with authentic Ethiopian cuisine and optional traditional music and dance. Day 2
Flight to Jinka & Ari Village Visit

After breakfast you transfer to Bole Airport for a scheduled flight to Jinka. On arrival you are met by your driver and transferred to your lodge/hotel for check-in and lunch. In the afternoon visit the Jinka Cultural Museum to learn about the diverse peoples of the Omo Valley, then take a guided visit to a nearby Ari village to meet locals and observe traditional daily life and crafts. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight in Jinka. Optional activities (extra cost): extended village stays or evening cultural demonstrations, subject to local availability.

Day 3

After breakfast, meet your driver for an unforgettable journey into Mago National Park, heading to the Mursi people’s village. The Mursi are renowned for their distinctive lip plates and unique customs, and you’ll have the chance to observe and photograph their daily life. After exploring the village, return to Jinka for lunch before driving on to Turmi, heart of the Hamer people’s territory. En route, stop in the small village of Key Afer to witness the fascinating tradition of boys walking on stilts. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the way. If time permits, take a short tour around Turmi before sunset. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Turmi.

Day 4

After breakfast, set off to visit the Karo tribe, celebrated for their elaborate body painting using natural pigments. Admire the striking designs, meet community members, and take in the sweeping views of the Omo River and surrounding grasslands. Return to Turmi for lunch, then continue to the Dasanech people near the Kenyan border. Experience their vibrant music, dance, and customs, and enjoy a short boat trip on the Omo River in a traditional wooden craft. If you’re fortunate, you may witness a bull-jumping ceremony, an important rite of passage. Return to your lodge in Turmi for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy an early breakfast before departing Turmi for Konso, a UNESCO World Heritage site. On arrival, have lunch and visit the Konso village, famous for its remarkable terraced farming, fortified stone-walled settlements, and the symbolic Waga sculptures that honor community heroes. Learn about their cultural traditions and agricultural ingenuity. In the late afternoon, continue your scenic drive to Arba Minch, passing through diverse landscapes and enjoying sweeping valley views. Upon arrival, check into your hotel, relax, and enjoy dinner before your overnight stay in Arba Minch.

After breakfast, explore Arba Minch starting with the 40 Springs area near Nech Sar National Park. Take a short guided hike to enjoy the lush scenery and possibly spot local wildlife. Return to the city for lunch before heading into the highlands to visit the Dorze people, known for their distinctive beehive-shaped houses, skillful weaving, and vibrant handicrafts. Learn about their unique use of the false banana plant to make traditional bread and taste the local fermented drink “volca.” Enjoy spectacular mountain and valley views before returning to Arba Minch for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, check out and enjoy a morning boat trip on Lake Chamo, famed for its large crocodiles, pods of hippos, and abundant birdlife. Return to Arba Minch for a coffee break and light meal before transferring to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa. On arrival, you’ll have a day room to freshen up, followed by shopping for Ethiopian coffee and souvenirs. Conclude your journey with a farewell dinner at one of the city’s top traditional restaurants, featuring live music and dance. Transfer to Bole International Airport for your departure flight.
