Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Arusha, heading southwest towards Tarangire National Park, a journey of about 2–3 hours through scenic countryside and Maasai villages.
Arrive at the park gate by late morning and begin your game drive in one of Tanzania’s most underrated parks, famous for its massive elephant population, ancient baobab trees, and classic African savannah landscapes. Tarangire is also home to lions, leopards, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffalo, and over 500 species of birds, making it a paradise for wildlife lovers and photographers alike.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site inside the park, often with views of the Tarangire River, a vital water source that draws animals from all directions, especially during the dry season.
After lunch, continue exploring the park’s varied habitats – from open plains to swamps and woodlands – while your guide shares insights into animal behavior, birdlife, and the ecological importance of the region.

Later, take a guided hike to the Ngare Sero Waterfalls — a refreshing walk through a narrow gorge with flowing streams and lush greenery, a hidden oasis in the dry landscape. After returning, visit the shores of Lake Natron to witness its surreal, alkaline waters and large flocks of flamingos.
After dinner and some rest, enjoy a short night walk under the stars. This 30–45 minute guided hike offers a peaceful experience of the landscape at night and a chance to learn about local culture and legends. Return to camp for overnight.
