Day 1

Zanzibar airport to Ndutu

Zanzibar airport to Ndutu

On this day, you will arrive at Seronera Airstrip, and your adventure begins with a game drive toward Ndutu. Once in Ndutu, enjoy a half-day game drive with a picnic lunch break. Ndutu’s sweeping grasslands merge seamlessly with the Serengeti and form part of the route for the annual migration of over 2 million wildebeests, accompanied by thousands of zebras, antelopes, and gazelles. From December to April, this area transforms into vital calving grounds and nurseries, attracting predators eager to hunt vulnerable young animals. The region’s water sources, including Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek, sustain abundant wildlife even during the dry season. Ndutu is also home to six species of big cats—leopards, lions, cheetahs, caracals, servals, and wildcats—offering thrilling predator sightings. After a full day of wildlife action, you’ll transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Game drive in Ndutu

Today you will enjoy a full day of game drives in the Ndutu region, where vast grasslands enriched by volcanic ash create nutrient-rich feeding grounds. Each year, millions of wildebeests return here to give birth, making it one of the most spectacular wildlife events on Earth. Between January and mid-February, an estimated 4,000 wildebeest calves are born daily. Spend the day exploring this remarkable landscape at your own pace, witnessing nature’s incredible circle of life unfold before your eyes.
