Kigali - Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP

You will be picked up from Kigali International Airport by your professional Naleyo Tours and Travels driver-guide and begin your journey towards Uganda. The drive is scenic, passing through rolling hills, lush farmland, and vibrant local villages as you make your way to the Cyanika or Katuna border crossing into Uganda. After completing border formalities, you will continue through the beautiful Ugandan countryside en route to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a journey of approximately 6–7 hours. Along the way, there may be opportunities to stop for refreshments or short photo breaks to enjoy the stunning scenery. Upon arrival in Bwindi, you will check in at your lodge and have the evening at leisure to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings in preparation for the exciting gorilla trekking ahead.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Start the morning with an early breakfast before transferring to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters for your gorilla trekking briefing. Here, the park rangers will provide essential instructions and safety guidelines for the trek. You will then begin your gorilla trekking adventure, hiking through lush forest trails that may take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family. The trek is a remarkable experience as you navigate dense forest, listen to the sounds of nature, and spot other wildlife along the way. Once you reach the gorillas, you will have one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat, taking photographs and soaking in the incredible experience. After the trek, you will return to your lodge for lunch and then continue your journey to Lake Bunyonyi, where you will spend the evening relaxing by the picturesque lakeshore, enjoying the serene scenery and perhaps taking a short walk or canoe ride.

Golden Monkey Tracking – Kigali International Airport

Begin the morning with an early breakfast at your lodge before transferring to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for your golden monkey tracking adventure. During this activity, you will trek through the lush forest for approximately 2–4 hours, observing the playful golden monkeys in their natural habitat and enjoying the incredible biodiversity of the park. After the tracking experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch and then begin the scenic drive back to Kigali, taking in the rolling hills and beautiful landscapes along the way. There may be an opportunity for a short Kigali city tour, including stops at the Genocide Memorial, local markets, or craft centers. Finally, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport in time for your departure, concluding your unforgettable primate and scenic adventure.
