Drive from Karatu to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu) for wildebeest calving season
Wake up for an early breakfast, then continue with a wildlife game drive in the Southern Serengeti National Park (Ndutu area) to experience the wildebeest calving season. Once you have finished the game drive, you will return to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
The Ndutu calving season, a highlight of the great wildebeest migration, typically occurs from late January to March in the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu areas of Tanzania. This is when over 400,000 wildebeest calves are born, drawn to the lush, nutrient-rich grasslands that emerge after the short rains. The area becomes a nursery for the new generation of wildebeest, attracting predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.
You will enjoy a packed lunch at the picnic site inside the park every afternoon. Dinner will be served at the lodge from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. The game drive will end at 4:00 pm.
