After an early breakfast at Summit Safari Lodge, you will depart Arusha and drive south to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most spectacular wildlife destinations. Start your day with an early morning game drive in the vast plains of the Serengeti National Park, where the golden sunrise lights up the savannah and wildlife activity is at its peak. This is an excellent time to spot predators returning from their nightly hunts, as well as herds of wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, and elephants roaming freely across the plains.

After the game drive and a hearty brunch, you will depart the Serengeti and enjoy a scenic drive toward Karatu, passing through the Ngorongoro highlands with beautiful landscapes along the way.

On arrival in Karatu, check in at Crater Rim View Lodge, a cozy retreat offering comfort and stunning views of the surrounding highlands. Relax, unwind, and enjoy a delicious dinner as you prepare for the next day’s adventure in the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 5

From karatu to ngorongoro crater

After an early breakfast, depart Karatu and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and the rare black rhino. The crater’s unique ecosystem makes it one of the best places in Africa for game viewing in a single day.

Enjoy a half-day game drive on the crater floor, with opportunities to capture breathtaking photos of both wildlife and the dramatic landscapes. At midday, have a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the crater, often near the hippo pool.

In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and begin your drive back to Arusha, where you will be transferred either to your hotel for overnight stay or directly to the departure point for your next destination.
