The journey takes about two and a half hours on smooth tarmac roads. Tarangire is named after the “river of warthogs”, the Tarangire River, which becomes a lifeline for wildlife during the dry season.
Here, you’ll spot majestic elephant herds gathering by the river, elegant giraffes, agile bushbucks, and graceful hartebeests. Keep your eyes peeled for lions and leopards quietly following their prey! Bird lovers are in for a treat too—Tarangire boasts more breeding bird species than anywhere else on earth. Don’t miss the awe-inspiring ancient baobab trees, some over a thousand years old.

After breakfast, you’ll journey through the Serengeti towards Ndutu, with stops along the way to take in even more of Tanzania’s incredible wildlife and landscapes. While the area is teeming with animals, it’s world-famous for the annual Great Migration millions of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes move in search of fresh grazing. This time of year, the migration is typically in Southern Serengeti and Ndutu (part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area). One highlight of the region is Lake Ndutu, an alkaline lake that provides a vital water source for wildlife.
You’ll spend the night in a comfortable mid-range seasonal tented camp, perfectly positioned for easy access to the action and unforgettable views of this wildlife paradise.

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll head out for a full day of game drives in Ndutu, exploring swamps, woodlands, and open savannah. Witness vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes, with the haunting mooing of wildebeests filling the air. Around February, female wildebeests give birth in a breathtaking synchronized display, with predators like lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards on the lookout. The newborn calves can run within minutes and join the herd within days.
After a day of incredible wildlife encounters, return to your tented camp for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Inside the crater’s steep volcanic walls lies a pristine wilderness of sweeping savannahs, acacia woodlands, and sparkling lakes and swamps. Formed when a massive volcano collapsed two to three million years ago, the drive down to the crater floor is an adventure itself. Here, you’ll encounter wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species, with a chance to see the endangered black rhino in the open grasslands.
After an afternoon game drive, return to your accommodation in Karatu, ending a day full of remarkable wildlife and breathtaking scenery.

This morning, you’ll set off for Lake Manyara National Park, the final stop on this epic safari! Though small, Manyara is incredibly diverse, just 120 km west of Arusha. Here, everything is on a grand scale compact in size yet framed by the towering Great Rift Escarpment along the western boundary.
The park is centered around its shallow, seasonal salt lake, home to thousands of wading birds, including flamingos and over 500 other species. In the dense evergreen forests, keep an eye out for baboons, elephants, and the legendary tree-climbing lions that have made Lake Manyara famous across Africa.
You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before settling in for the night at your accommodation in Manyara, reflecting on the unforgettable wildlife and landscapes you’ve experienced.
