Welcome to Addis Ababa, the bustling capital of Ethiopia and the political heart of Africa. Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you'll be greeted by your guide and begin your exploration.
Start with a visit to the National Museum, where you’ll see archaeological treasures including Lucy, the 3.2 million year old hominid fossil.
Tour the Holy Trinity Cathedral, a grand Ethiopian Orthodox church featuring beautiful stained glass windows and royal tombs.
Drive up to Mount Entoto, the historical capital of Emperor Menelik II, for panoramic views of the city.

Day 2

After breakfast, drive to Bahir Dar, a beautiful city on the shores of Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake.
Enjoy a scenic boat trip on Lake Tana to explore some of its ancient island monasteries such as Ura Kidane Mehret and Azwa Mariam, known for their colorful murals and ancient manuscripts.
In the afternoon, drive to Blue Nile Falls (Tis Issat), about 35 km away. After a short hike, experience the mist and thunder of this spectacular waterfall, especially impressive during the wet season.
Return to Bahir Dar for dinner and relaxation by the lakeside.

After breakfast, depart for Gondar (approx. 3 hour drive), a historic city known as the “Camelot of Africa.
Visit the UNESCO-listed Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi), a complex of 17th century castles built by Emperor Fasilides and his descendants.
Explore the Debre Berhan Selassie Church, famed for its magnificent ceiling covered in angelic faces.
See the Fasilides Bath, a ceremonial pool still used during the Timket (Epiphany) celebration.

Encounter troops of Gelada baboons, a grass eating primate endemic to Ethiopia, often seen in large social groups.

After breakfast, enjoy a second morning trek or scenic drive deeper into the park — possibly visiting Chenek, known for its striking views and higher chances of seeing the Walia ibex, an endangered mountain goat found only in Ethiopia.

In the afternoon, drive back to Gondar, where you’ll rest and prepare for the next leg of your journey.

After breakfast, fly to Lalibela, one of the world’s most remarkable religious sites. Dubbed the “New Jerusalem, Lalibela is home to a network of 12th century rock-hewn churches, carved entirely from solid volcanic rock.
Begin with the Northern Cluster, which includes:
Bete Medhane Alem – the largest rock-hewn church in the world.
Bete Maryam, Bete Golgotha, and Bete Mikael, with symbolic architecture and religious significance.
Walk through tunnels and passageways connecting the churches — many still used for active worship today.
Lalibela is more than a historical site; it is a living, breathing center of devotion.

In the morning, continue your exploration of Lalibela’s wonders:
Visit the Southern Cluster, with more elaborately carved churches like Bete Amanuel, Bete Abba Libanos, and Bete Gabriel-Rufael.
Conclude your tour with the iconic Bete Giorgis (St. George’s Church), the most visually striking and well-preserved church, carved in the shape of a Greek cross.
After lunch, transfer to Lalibela Airport for your return to Addis Ababa.
