After pick-up, you will drive to Materuni Village, bordering Mount Kilimanjaro, for two hours. From here, you will hike to the famous waterfalls. Then, after a local lunch buffet, you will hear about the history of the Chagga people, who are residents of the Kilimanjaro Region. You will have the opportunity to attend a lecture about the production of coffee and drive to Arusha for your overnight at The Charity Hotel.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

Set off early for Tarangire National Park, located approximately 2.5 hours away. Known for its breathtaking scenery, the park is characterized by towering baobab trees and the Tarangire River, a vital water source for wildlife during the dry season.

Tarangire is home to the highest concentration of elephants in northern Tanzania, with herds of up to 300 commonly seen. You’ll also have the chance to spot a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, impalas, warthogs, and the rare fringed-eared oryx and greater kudu.

The park’s diverse landscape features baobab forests, acacia woodlands, and combretum thickets, while the riverbanks are lined with palm groves and seasonal wetlands. Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled by the park’s 550+ bird species, including yellow-collared lovebirds, vulturine guineafowl, bustards, and African fish eagles.

Your day begins bright and early with a morning game drive through the iconic Serengeti National Park. As the sun rises over the plains, keep your eyes peeled for an incredible variety of wildlife wildebeests, lions, elephants, leopards, impalas, gazelles, and cheetahs all roam these vast landscapes.

With a bit of luck, you may even catch a glimpse of the awe-inspiring wildebeest migration in action. After your game drive, you’ll enjoy a hearty brunch before continuing your adventure.

The journey then takes you towards Ngorongoro, with a scenic game drive along the way, offering even more wildlife viewing opportunities as you transition from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

This natural wonder is one of the best places in Africa to spot the legendary Big Five lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and, with some luck, the rare black rhinoceros. As you explore the crater’s diverse habitats, you'll also encounter a rich variety of other wildlife, including hippos, giraffes, warthogs, baboons, and numerous bird species.
