Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Pick up from your stay in Arusha town and drive to Tarangire National Park, carrying packed lunch boxes for the day. Upon arrival, enjoy a full-day game drive exploring the park’s unique beauty and diverse wildlife. Tarangire is most famous for its impressive population of elephants, often seen moving in large herds, as well as for its giant baobab trees that dominate the landscape. The park’s habitats vary from seasonal swamps and acacia woodlands to open savanna plains, all sustained by the Tarangire River, which attracts animals throughout the year. During the dry season, vast numbers of wildlife gather at the river, making it one of the best places in Tanzania to view game. Expect to see lions stalking prey, leopards lounging in trees, graceful giraffes, and countless zebras and wildebeests. Bird enthusiasts will also enjoy spotting more than 500 species recorded in the park. After your game drive, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Around 30,000 large mammals live here year-round, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, and the rare black rhino, which finds refuge within the crater walls.
