Day 1

You will be picked up from the hotel and head out for a half-day Kigali city tour, with activities selected according to your preferences. You may choose to visit places such as the Genocide Memorial, the Campaign Against Genocide Museum, the Richard Kandt House, and the Inema Art Center. At lunchtime, you will enjoy local food with residents to experience traditional Rwandan meals, then transfer to Musanze in the afternoon. You will arrive within approximately two and a half hours and explore the Ibyiwacu Cultural Village to learn more about Rwandan culture, including traditional weddings, traditional medicine, and cultural dancing, before heading to the hotel for an overnight stay near Volcanoes National Park.

After your breakfast, take a boat ride and transfer to Kimbiri, where you will go on a fascinating tour of the artisanal coffee plantations. You'll explore more about coffee production, from the land to the cup. After this experience, you'll proceed with a boat ride to Kibuye and enjoy lunch featuring fresh local food, such as fish. You'll spend a few moments relaxing along the lakeshore. Then, you'll discover the lake by kayaking to Bat Island. You'll leave the kayak and hike to Napoleon Island, where you will enjoy great views. You'll take your time to capture memorable souvenir photos. You will have a relaxed morning and breakfast, then leave the hotel at 10:00 a.m. with your driver and proceed to the Nyungwe National Park reception for your afternoon activities. You will begin with the canopy walkway, discovering a 70-meter suspended metallic bridge. This walk provides a great overview of Nyungwe Forest, and on a lucky day, you may spot one or two primates as you cross the bridge.
After this great experience, you will proceed to visit the tea plantations at the Gisakura Tea Gardens, where you will learn how tea is planted, harvested, and processed. You will have time to take beautiful photos, then later drive back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5

Chimpanzee Trekking and Colobus Monkey Adventure

You will wake up early and head to the park reception, arriving at 5:00 a.m. for a briefing and departure in search of the chimpanzees. You will be entitled to one hour with the chimpanzees, during which you will observe their behavior and spend time in their natural habitat.
After the trek, you will return to the Uwinka reception for lunch and a short rest before the afternoon activity. You will attend another briefing before heading out to search for the colobus monkeys, and once they are found, you will be allowed to take as many photos as you wish. Today, your adventure comes to an end. You will head back to the hotel for evening relaxation and an overnight stay.

Drive back to Kigali and King' Museum Visit

After breakfast, you will leave the hotel at 9:00 a.m. for a drive of approximately six hours. You will have an en-route lunch and a stopover for leg stretching, including a visit to the Nyanza King’s Palace Museum, the former palace of King Mutara III Rudahigwa. The museum offers a detailed look into the Rwandan monarchical system and its abolition in the early 1960s due to colonialism.
You will reach Kigali in the evening. Depending on your plans, you will be transferred directly to your hotel or homestay, or to the airport for your drop-off.
