Day 2

Transfer to Bwindi Forest – Home of Mountain Gorillas

Start the day with an early breakfast before setting out from Entebbe via the Equator line for monumental photoshoots. Continue the drive via the Rift Valley through the Kigezi Highlands and on to the mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is a home to endangered Mountain Gorillas. Retire your day at the lodge overlooking the misty forest.

Spend the day tracking the endangered Mountain Gorilla, spending up to an hour among them. See mothers keeping infants close as they knucklewalk on three limbs. Watch scampering toddlers reined in by an attentive father. Late in the day, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an overnight in the middle of Africa’s second deepest lake.

We start the day with a relaxed breakfast before starting the boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi for island hooping. We shall then drive to Entebbe. With lunch stop on the way and getting some time to stretch the legs at the equator. Drive to Entebbe and have a relaxed evening as you get ready for the Big 5 wildlife encounter in Tanzania the next day.

With a lazy breakfast, your guide will pick you up and proceed to Tarangire National park one of the largest national park in Tanzania located in Manyara region, this place is characterized by the large herds of elephants, tree climbing lions, and the fascinating baobab trees also called the Tree of Life for its almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it. This park is especially known for Tarangire River which flows all year round and the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons.

With an early breakfast, proceed to the famous Ngorongoro highland looking forward to descending into the famous Ngorongoro crater rim and experience the 8th wonder of the world. It’s a half day game drive down the crater rim. The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here. Tranfer to spend the night in the middle of Serengeti Plains.

You will spend the morning time exploring the great Serengeti plains, its animals and incredible landscapes. The Serengeti is the habitat for an abundance of wildlife, such as impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos, but is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebras and wildebeest. The animals’ trek is determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. Apart from the migrating herds, you may see predators, such as leopards, cheetahs and lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch and proceed to Karatu via the famous Ngorongoro Highlands.
