Day 2
Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, depart from your lodge and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, carrying picnic lunch boxes for the day. Upon arrival, begin a guided game drive through this scenic park, famous for its legendary tree-climbing lions and dramatic landscapes that include dense acacia woodlands, open grasslands, and the shimmering soda lake that attracts flocks of flamingos. After breakfast, depart from your lodge and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, carrying picnic lunch boxes for a full-day adventure. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera and one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders. The crater floor, with its grasslands, swamps, forests, and soda lakes, provides a sanctuary to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. Here you will have the rare chance to spot the legendary Big Five—lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and the endangered black rhino—within a relatively small area.
