Welcome to Tanzania and the beginning of your Golden Escape.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Making Memories in Africa Safaris. After a brief introduction, enjoy a private transfer to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s famous Northern Safari Circuit.

The remainder of the day is yours to relax and recover from your international journey.

Depending on your arrival time, your safari guide will meet you for a personal briefing and introduce you to the exciting journey ahead. This is also an opportunity to discuss the itinerary, wildlife expectations and any personal preferences.

Enjoy a peaceful first evening in Tanzania as you prepare for tomorrow’s adventure into the wilderness.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park | Baobabs & Elephant

After breakfast, meet your private safari guide and depart Arusha in your 4x4 Land Cruiser for Tarangire National Park.

Known for its ancient baobab trees, sweeping savanna and impressive elephant populations, Tarangire provides a spectacular introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife.

Spend the day exploring the park’s diverse landscapes while searching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, antelopes and numerous bird species. Lions are also regularly encountered, while leopards and other elusive animals may occasionally be seen.

Your private safari allows the day to remain flexible. Your guide can adjust the route according to wildlife activity and spend more time at particularly rewarding sightings.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location inside the park before continuing your afternoon game drive.

Later, leave Tarangire and travel through the beautiful countryside toward the fertile highlands of Karatu.

As you descend from the highlands, the landscape opens into vast short-grass plains where large numbers of wildebeest gather during the calving season. The abundance of wildlife also attracts predators, offering opportunities to search for cheetahs, lions and hyenas. Explore open plains, woodland and seasonal marshes while enjoying excellent opportunities for wildlife photography. A picnic lunch will be served during the game drive before continuing your exploration into the afternoon.
