Meet in Maun for a scenic morning transfer to your single-base camp on the edge of Nxai Pan. After lunch and a short rest, enjoy your first afternoon game drive to the pan edge with a sundowner and your first chance to spot elephants, giraffe and springbok. Return to camp for a welcome dinner, safety briefing and starlit storytelling.

Day 2

Rise before dawn for a sunrise game drive when predators and grazers are most active this is prime time for cheetah glimpses and beautifully lit landscapes for photography. Return to camp for a leisurely brunch and downtime to charge batteries, sort photos, or nap during the mid-day heat. In the afternoon you'll visit the famous Baines’ Baobabs: a shaded picnic among these monumental trees gives both a historical narrative and endless framing opportunities for portraits and wide-angle shots. Your guide will offer composition tips and short interpretive notes on the baobabs’ ecology and local folklore. End the day with a gentle drive back to camp, a sunset drink, and an optional after-dinner photography chat or informal Q&A with your guide.

Day 3

Depart very early for a full day on the Makgadikgadi salt pans the silence and scale here feel otherworldly. Walk across firm pan-crusts with your guide who will explain the paleo-lake history, salt formations, and how desert-adapted life survives in this landscape; during green periods you may encounter zebra lines, tiny springbok foals, or seasonal lakes with flamingos. Return to camp late afternoon for a slower game drive if time allows, followed by a cultural evening where local guides share stories, traditional uses of plants, and stargazing — the pans’ flat horizon makes constellations easy to spot.

Day 4

This day is tailored to the season: in the green season the focus is on tracking zebra herds and spotting foals and migratory movement; in the dry season you concentrate on permanent waterholes, where predators, elephants, and concentrated wildlife offer excellent viewing and photography. Expect a long but rewarding morning drive to the hotspots, with your guide narrating animal behaviour, tracking signs, and conservation insights. Return mid-day to relax in camp a perfect time for journal writing, birding from camp. Reassemble for an afternoon drive to a scenic viewpoint for a farewell sundowner, then a special campfire dinner with reflections, conservation talk, and an opportunity for guests to share highlights.

Day 5
Last Light, Homebound
Last Light, Homebound
Wake for one last sunrise drive to catch any animals missed earlier the soft early light often reveals quietly moving predators or active birdlife. Enjoy a bush breakfast in the field before returning to camp to pack; staff will assist so guests can take a final short walk or do last-minute birding near the tents. Depart mid-morning for the comfortable road back to Maun.
