Depart to Mikumi National Park for An Afternoon Game Drive

Your safari adventure begins with a morning departure from Dar es Salaam at 6:00 am (approx. 5 - 6 hours drive). Enjoy a scenic drive through the Tanzanian countryside, with views of local villages, hills, and farmlands along the way. Upon arrival at Mikumi National Park, you’ll check in at your lodge or camp and have lunch.

In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in the park. Mikumi is known for its wide-open plains that resemble the Serengeti, offering excellent chances to spot wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and a variety of antelope species. If you're lucky, you may also see lions or leopards resting in the shade. As the sun sets, transferred to your accommodation for dinner and a relaxing evening surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Full Day Game Drive at Mikumi National Park

After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive through Mikumi National Park. The park’s expansive Mkata floodplain is renowned for its abundant wildlife and open vistas, making it ideal for game viewing and photography.

Throughout the day, you’ll have the opportunity to encounter a variety of species, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and numerous antelope. Bird enthusiasts will also enjoy the diverse birdlife found within the park.

A picnic lunch will be served at one of the designated areas inside the park, allowing you to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Continue your exploration in the afternoon before returning to your lodge or camp in the early evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Maasai Cultural Tour and Depart to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast and check-out, depart for a visit to a nearby Maasai village. This enriching cultural experience offers a glimpse into the traditional lifestyle of the Maasai people. You'll learn about their customs, dress, and social structure, and have the chance to interact with community members in an authentic setting.

Following the visit, begin your return journey back to Dar es Salaam (approx. 5 - 6 hours drive). Enjoy the scenic drive as you reflect on your safari experience. Arrival is expected in the early evening, and dropped-off to your hotel.
