After a short briefing about your safari, you will begin the scenic drive to Kibale National Park, home to the world’s highest concentration of primates. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at the lodge or stretch your legs with a walk through its gardens. For evening arrivals, overnight accommodation in Entebbe can be arranged so that you start the long journey refreshed the next morning. Day 2

Your day begins with an early breakfast before heading to Kanyanchu Visitor Center for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. These playful primates share nearly 98% of their DNA with humans, making the encounter incredibly fascinating. Groups of eight trekkers are assigned to ranger guides who lead the search through the lush forest. Once found, you’ll spend an unforgettable hour observing and photographing the chimpanzees in their natural environment. After receiving your trekking certificate, you’ll continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most biodiverse reserves with over 95 mammal species and more than 600 bird species. A stop for a local-style lunch en route introduces you to Uganda’s rich flavors.

Today begins with an early morning game drive across the open savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Carrying packed breakfast makes the experience even more rewarding as you enjoy your meal surrounded by grazing wildlife. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, and with a bit of luck, lions and leopards. After lunch, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. This excursion offers up-close views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and an astonishing variety of birdlife. In the evening, you may opt for an additional game drive to maximize your wildlife encounters.

This region is renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions, often seen lounging high in fig trees. This UNESCO World Heritage Site will be your base for the much-anticipated gorilla trekking adventure. Lunch will be enjoyed along the scenic route.

The long-awaited day arrives with an early breakfast before heading to the Bwindi park headquarters for a detailed briefing. Carrying drinking water, a packed lunch, and rain gear is highly recommended. Groups of eight trekkers, led by ranger guides, venture into the dense forest to track the endangered mountain gorillas. The trek can be challenging, but the magical hour spent in the company of these gentle giants is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Hiring a porter at a small fee is advisable to assist with bags and provide support on steep terrain. After your trek, transfer to the serene Lake Bunyonyi, famous for its scenic islands and safe swimming waters.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast by the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s second-deepest lake. Its breathtaking views make for a perfect morning relaxation before beginning the return drive to Entebbe. En route, you’ll stop at the Equator line, where you can stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at once. This stop also provides an opportunity to shop for souvenirs at roadside craft markets. The safari concludes with your drop-off in Entebbe, either at your hotel or at the airport.
