Tarangire National Park
Upon arrival at Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will meet your driver and head to Tarangire National Park with your packed lunch boxes. We recommend arriving early in the morning to enjoy your day. If you arrive late, we advise spending the night in Arusha city and proceeding with the safari the next day. The drive may take up to 2 hours from the airport. Upon arrival, you will start your game drive and continue until the evening. After spending valuable time in the park for a game drive, you will head to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.
The park's name comes from the Tarangire River, which is the only source of water for the wildlife during the Dry season. The park is well known for its large herds of elephants, giant baobab trees, and tree-climbing African pythons. Other wildlife includes both predators and herbivores such as lions, leopards, gazelles, zebras, giraffes, and buffalo, as well as various bird species and plant species.
