From Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins with a morning departure from Arusha, heading southwest to Tarangire National Park, a hidden gem known for its iconic baobab trees, rolling savannah, and the largest concentration of elephants in northern Tanzania. Upon arrival, you will embark on an extended game drive lasting 5 to 7 hours, giving you the chance to spot a wide variety of wildlife including lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, and over 500 bird species. Midday, you’ll enjoy a packed picnic lunch at one of the designated sites inside the park, surrounded by nature and stunning views. In the late afternoon, after an exciting day of wildlife viewing, you will drive to the lush highlands of Karatu. There, you’ll check in at Marera Valley Lodge, a comfortable and welcoming lodge set in a beautiful garden setting, where you’ll have dinner and overnight rest in preparation for the next day’s adventure.

Lake Manyara Game drive

After breakfast at Marera Valley Lodge in Karatu, you will depart for Lake Manyara National Park, located just a short drive away. This compact but diverse park is nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and is renowned for its lush groundwater forest, scenic lake views, and rich wildlife. During the game drive, you’ll have the chance to spot elephants, hippos, buffalo, giraffes, and the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as a wide array of birdlife including flamingos and pelicans along the shores of Lake Manyara. The park offers a unique blend of ecosystems—ranging from forest and marsh to open savannah—making the game drive both varied and visually stunning. After a memorable wildlife experience, you will exit the park and begin your journey back to Arusha. Depending on your travel plans, you will be dropped off either at your hotel or directly at the airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your unforgettable 2-day safari.
