Day 1
The park is famous for its massive herds of elephants. It is not uncommon to see families of hundreds lumbering gracefully across the plains, bathing in the mud, or skillfully stripping bark from the acacia trees with their trunks.
Tarangire is also home to strong populations of buffalo, giraffe, eland, and zebra. Predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs stalk the grasslands, offering the chance for a thrilling sighting. The park is also a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 550 species recorded, including the majestic kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird in the world, and the colourful yellow-collared lovebird.
We will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at a designated scenic spot inside the park, surrounded by the sounds of the wild, before continuing our game drive in the afternoon.
As the sun begins to lower, casting a golden glow over the baobabs, we will start our journey back, filled with unforgettable memories of the giants of Tarangire.
