Arrival and Transfer to Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania – where your unforgettable safari adventure with Maasailand Adventure begins! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Maasailand Adventure representative and transferred to the Gold Crest Hotel in Arusha. As you drive through the scenic surroundings, take in the vibrant atmosphere of Arusha and catch glimpses of daily local life along the way.

After settling into your accommodation, you will meet your personal Maasailand Adventure safari guide for a welcome briefing, where you will receive an overview of your itinerary and have the opportunity to ask any questions, ensuring you are ready for the unforgettable safari experience that awaits you.

Arusha to Ndutu

After breakfast, your Maasailand Adventure guide will pick you up from your hotel. From here you will begin your journey toward the famous Ndutu plains, located between the southern plains of the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

During the drive, you will enjoy scenic landscapes and wildlife sightings along the way before arriving in Ndutu. Upon arrival, you will be exploring the open plains where the Great Migration gathers for calving season (December to March). This region is famous for vast herds of wildebeest and zebra, as well as high predator activity, including lions, cheetahs and hyenas.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch en route, before continuing with an afternoon game drive across the Ndutu plains. Later in the evening, you will be transferred to Kontiki Ndutu Camp, where you will enjoy a warm dinner and a comfortable overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Game Drive in Ndutu

Today will be dedicated to a full-day safari across the remarkable Ndutu plains, one of the most important wildlife areas during the Great Migration calving season, when thousands of wildebeest give birth across the open grasslands.

You will follow the herds across the short-grass plains, where predator action is at its peak. Expect excellent chances to see lions, cheetahs, hyenas and leopards interacting with the migration. The wide, open landscape offers excellent visibility and ideal photography opportunities for unforgettable wildlife moments.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the bush, keeping you close to the action throughout the day. In the evening, after an exciting safari, you will return to Tanzania bush Camp for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

*For an additional fee, you can enhance your experience with the option of a hot air balloon safari, giving you a birds-eye view of the breathtaking scenery and herds of wildlife moving across the savannah*.

Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater then transfer back to Arusha

On your final day, you will enjoy breakfast before departing Ndutu and start heading toward the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will descend into the crater for a half-day game drive, exploring its rich wildlife floor, home to an incredible concentration of animals within a unique enclosed ecosystem.

The crater floor is home to elephants, zebras, buffalo, hippos and an impressive concentration of predators, as well as the endangered and protected black rhino.

Around midday, you will enjoy a picnic lunch beside the scenic hippo pool, surrounded by incredible views before ascending the crater and beginning your journey back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your safari with Maasailand Adventure.
