Day 1

Arrival - Nairobi

Today you will be arriving at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport. You will be met there by our representative and later transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Your stay will be at the Panafrica Hotel or something similar in price and luxury level.

Day 2

Nairobi - Lake Elmentaita

Nairobi - Lake Elmentaita

Today you have a morning departure to Lake Elementaita arriving in the mid morning. You will go for a bird walk to try and identify species like Glossy ibis, Black heron, Red billed Teal, Black tailed godwit among others. Later you will stop to have lunch at Lake Elementaita Lodge. You will go out again after lunch for another bird walk until dinner time. Dinner and overnight will be at Lake Elementaita Lodge.

Day 3

Elmentaita - Lake Naivasha

After breakfast we will depart from Elementaita for a scenic drive through the Great North road to Lake Naivasha. We should be arriving by mid-morning to fit in a bird walk before lunch time. Lunch will be served at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. Lake Naivasha is very close to Lake Nakuru and only 65 miles from Nairobi ; it is unique in that it is a freshwater Lake. It was declared a bird sanctuary in 1967 and supports pastoral industries of wine and flowers. During our full day trip to Lake Naivasha, we will study the birds of the region such as herons, fish eagles, ospreys, black crakes, and lily-trotters. Dominated by the shadow of Mt. Longonot, few lakes in the world have a more spectacular setting than Naivasha. Lake Naivasha, being set on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, is home to an incredible variety of species. Over 450 species have been recorded here. Dinner and overnight stay is at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge or something similar.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, also known as the pink Heart Of Kenya because of the millions of Flamingoes that cover the lake with pink. You will have an afternoon game/bird viewing. Later dinner and overnight stay will be at Lake Nakuru Lodge/Sopa lodge.

Day 5

Lake Nakuru

Today we will spend the whole day bird watching at the park. If we are lucky we may see the sky leopard before returning for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon we will have some time to relax before embarking on our late afternoon game drive to try and capture what was not seen during the day. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Sopa Lodge.

Day 6

Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara

Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara

After breakfast, drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the Mara Game Reserve. Masai Mara is actually the northern portion of the Great Plains ecosystem in the neighboring Tanzania called Serengeti. It is a home to the "big five": lion, buffalo, rhino, leopard and elephant as well cheetah, zebra, giraffe and vast herds of plain antelope and numerous and other wildlife. Our accommodation for the night will be at the Mara Sopa Lodge. Set in the Oloolaimutia valley, the lodge blends in the perfectly with its surrounding hillside landscape. After lunch you will have some time to relax and perhaps take a dip in the pool. You will depart with your driver guide for an afternoon game drive in search of the big five. As the sun starts to dip into the horizon, it will be the perfect time to photograph the beautiful Mara rolling plains.

Day 7

Masai Mara

Masai Mara

You will have an early breakfast and then after breakfast, we will start our game drive including the visit to Mara river. With a picnic lunch, you can spend your day in Mara Plains trying to identify and record many of the 450 species of birds recorded in this reserve. All meals and overnight will be served at Mara Sopa Lodge (BLD).

Day 8

Mara Nairobi

After breakfast, we will drive back to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch at City Restaurant. After some good food, you wil check in to a day room at Nairobi hotel. We will have a farewell dinner at the world famous Carnivore Restaurant, considered "Africa's greatest eating experience". After, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your International departure flight.
